Consoles and PC's have had a slow month interms of new AAA quality games arriving for your respected platform. While January got off to a slow start, it quickly recovered to bring us high quality tittles through digital distribution. Plenty of great downloadable arcade tittles were made available through XBLA, PSN and Steam, giving us many hidden gems on the digital marketplace. Let's look back at the games we reviewed over the past month.

So, for the past 11 years or so, since I’ve had some kind of flowing income, I’ve purchased every WWE title produced by THQ ranging from WWF No Mercy to Day of Reckoning. Yes, I even purchased WWE Crush Hour and WWF Betrayal. I’ve seen the Smackdown series evolve from being a Playstation exclusive to being multi-console. So, when THQ announced WWE ’12, it was just like any other year--except Bigger, Badder and Better. On to our WWE '12 review!

All right WWE fans. If you're not excited for WWE '12 yet--then what in the world is wrong with you? THQ has pulled out all the stops this year--nabbing the likes of Brock Lesnar and Batista for the title. Today, THQ announced that the hardcore legend Mick Foley will be available as future DLC for WWE '12.

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar was once the next big thing in pro wrestling. And now he's returning as a WWE Legend in THQ's WWE 12. The former WWE Superstar, who will also appear in UFC Undisputed 3 in 2012, explains why he decided to be a part of WWE ’12, what he thinks of the game, offers his thoughts on a certain WWE Legend and the rest of the WWE, and looks ahead to what the future has in store for him in the video interview below.

Plus, we here at Gamerlive.TV are not only big fans of the WWE, but also of THQ's masterful job with the franchise thus far. So, now we have for you a THQ provided screenshot of the unveiling of 23 championship belts, including the Hardcore and European Championship belts, and two mysterious WCW spraypainted titles as well. THQ has revealed new details on its completely revamped Road to Wrestlemania career mode in its upcoming WWE 12 game, which ships November 22 across game platforms. The new WWE title promises a bigger game, badder presentation and better simulation-based gameplay. WWE Superstar Sheamus, who was on hand at a recent THQ event at Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), knows what it takes to take the road to Wrestlemania. The professional wrestler had to work his way up through the ranks of the minor league systems before making it big in the WWE. Matthew Cardona is known by wrestling fans these days as Zack Ryder, the WWE Superstar best known for his finishing move, the Zack attack. Ryder has risen up through the ranks of professional wrestling and now takes the main ring in WWE programming. WWE Superstar Alex Riley has risen up through the ranks of professional wrestling to become one of the more popular leading men in the ring. Riding on the coattails of The Miz as his protege, Riley now stands tall on his own in the ring. The Fairfax, Virginia native played both football and basketball at Robinson High School and was a quarterback and linebacker at Boston College. Barrett, like many American wrestlers, gamed across the pond as a kid. THQ is making one of the big games of 2011 even bigger. The company's pre-order program for WWE '12 focuses on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Often touted as “the most electrifying man in all of entertainment,” legendary WWE Superstar The Rock will be available as a playable character for consumers who pre-order the game at any participating retailer within the United States or Canada for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft or PlayStation3 computer entertainment system (while supplies last).  The Rock’s in-game character will resemble his current-day appearance, including a shaved head and new tattoos.

Despite a recent string of down months in U.S. video game sales at retail this year, a new report from research firm Gartner paints a very rosy picture for the global video game industry. When adding in revenues from burgeoning online, mobile and digital gaming sectors, Gartner estimates that worldwide spending on the gaming ecosystem will exceed $74 billion in 2011, up 10.4 percent from the $67 billion spent last year. By 2015, spending is expected to reach $112 billion.

THQ Inc. and Zuffa, LLC today announced the first gameplay details surrounding UFC Undisputed 3, the new installment in the critically acclaimed and best-selling mixed martial arts videogame franchise based on the Ultimate Fighting Championship.  Poised to take players inside the virtual Octagon with extensive focus on intense toe-to-toe combat, impressive visual presentation and significantly increased accessibility, including the introduction of PRIDE Mode, two new weight classes and an impressive playable roster of more than 150 UFC fighters, UFC Undisputed 3 is currently in development for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system and PlayStation3 computer entertainment system, with a scheduled release timing of January 2012.

With Randy Orton scheduled to be part of Wrestlemania 26 in Phoenix, Arizona as part of the Legacy Triple Threat Match against Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, the WWE Superstar took a breather before making history to talk videogames. Orton is one of over 50 professional wrestlers in THQ’s Smackdown vs. RAW 2010, which is available for all game systems. The game allows WWE fans full creative control over the gameplay, including the ability to create superstars and their in-the-ring finishing moves. There are also new Superstar vs. Diva matches and online Royal Rumble matches. To keep things updated with the always-evolving WWE TV programming, gamers can now update costumes to keep the virtual matches on par with the live events.

LOS ANGELES, California – While professional wrestling may not be real, it’s definitely big business. And one of the biggest revenue generators for pro wrestling today is videogames. The biggest name in “sports entertainment” today – the name clearly explains the matches are choreographed – is World Wrestling Entertainment. And the WWE has seen a rise in programming viewership over the past decade, in part, to the successful WWE Smackdown videogame franchise from game publisher THQ. The latest game in this franchise, WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2010, just hit stores. Cory Ledesma, senior creative manager for WWE games at THQ, took some time away from the ring to talk about the success of this franchise and how gamers are being handed the keys to the creative kingdom with this latest game.
