Electronic Arts never fails to showcase a strong array of third-party titles for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as well as other consoles each year they attend E3.  Last year was a huge highlight between such games as SSX and Mass Effect 3, but what does the company have to lean on this year?  Well, besides big sports hits like Madden NFL 13 and the upcoming Overstrike from Insomniac Games, we’ve got a few ideas as to what the company should officially announce at the show.  With that, here are our suggestions…

When you create a game for a motion-sensitive device, you have to keep things not only interesting, but fresh.  Stick with the same ideal too long and mundane feelings set in, leaving the player wondering why they’re still playing an hour into the game.  Some games have avoided these pratfalls, including Child of Eden and, most recently, Star Wars Kinect.  However, Diabolical Pitch, sadly, doesn’t avoid this rut.

Baseball season is almost upon us once again, with spring training games in full swing and big-league players ready to step up.  With that, Sony’s also hitting the plate a month out with its latest diamond-running sim, MLB 12: The Show.  As in previous years, it really knows its authenticity, and inserts it into every frame of the game, from the crack of the bat to the mad scramble around bases, with players making crack decisions about stealing bases or running for home.  But they’ve been doing that for the past few years.  Does anything really stand out to make this year’s game different?  Yep, but not all of it is for the positive.

The New York Yankees are one of those teams, like the Dallas Cowboys, that you either love, or love to hate. But for most of his career, Derek Jeter has been the one guy most people liked. In fact, he was on the cover of 2K Sports MLB 2K5, 2K6 and 2K7 for just that reason. These days, with his poor batting average pulling down the team and his recent decision to skip the MLB All-Star Game in Phoenix (along with most of the other big names in baseball), he’s become the subject of negative press. Jeter talks about his earlier days, when playing video games was a bigger part of his life, in this exclusive interview.

The director was in Chicago to film the TV spot for 2K Sports’ most recent arcade baseball game, The Bigs 2. The commercial, which stars Milwaukee Brewers MLB All-Star Prince Fielder, features a pair of speeding trains and plenty of green screen special effects – including a collision. Berg took a break from his first experience using the new RED cameras to talk about his own background in videogames and why the convergence between Hollywood and games has yet to yield the same type of success as comic books or novels in this exclusive interview.

CHICAGO, Illinois – Not everyone is a fan of baseball, so 2K Sports has created The Bigs franchise to make the game faster and more fun. Among the new features are an updated Home Run Baseball feature that offers new cities to play in with Tokyo and Las Vegas. There’s also a full career mode where players can start in the Mexican league and work their way up to the The Bigs. In addition, this year’s Wii game will feature all of the gameplay that the other console versions offer to veteran baseball fans and rookies alike.
