Witha sequel in the works, Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner remains one of the most important science-fiction movies of the 20th century. The film, starring Harrison Ford, has had immeasurable influence on society, and its futuristic depiction of a post-apocalyptic, dystopian world makes it perhaps more powerful and relevant today than when it was made. Produced by Michael Deeley and directed by Scott (a three-time Best Director Oscar nominee for Gladiator, Thelma & Louise and Black Hawk Down), Blade Runner has appeared on more Top Five sci-fi lists than any other film. Syd Mead, who helped design the futuristic sci-fi world, talks about his work in the exclusive video below.
