The cloud gaming folks at OnLive may not have a booth on the show floor, but it's certainly leaving its mark at the Consumer Electronics Show.  It has announced a partnership not only with Google TV, but also with Razer, in an attempt to bring its gaming services to more devices, other than the PC, MicroConsole and, most recently, iOS and Android devices.

For its final appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show (for the forseeable future, anyway), Microsoft is really going all out with its exhibit, showing off a number of mobile and Xbox 360 games, as well as forthcoming technology.  Among this technology is plenty of stuff for Kinect, including various stations where users can get into their gaming experiences.  And one example of this that stands out is Kinect Rush: A Disney/Pixar Adventure.

For those of you who just can't get into console gaming and could care less about owning a handheld system, there is an alternative solution -- your computer.  And no, we don't mean buying games that would run on your hardware.  We mean ones that are actually built into a browser or, better yet, a website.  And it seems like Facebook is getting stronger than ever when it comes to demonstrating this business tactic.

The Consumer Electronics Show 2012 kicks off in Las Vegas in just a few days, and anyone who's anyone in the electronics world will be at the event, showcasing new tablets, TV's and other consumer technology.  That said, expect video games to have a presence as well, with Nintendo attending the event and Sony showing off its PlayStation Vita.  But will there be hints in regards to the next level of video game consoles?  Perhaps...

The Consumer Electronics Show, which will kick off once again early next year in Las Vegas, Nevada, is the biggest showcase of upcoming TV's, home theaters and other pieces of home and travel technology.  And each year, a number of companies take part and attract thousands of attendees.  However, the upcoming 2012 show will mark a significant change for one company in particular -- Microsoft.

The CES show, which is held every year in Las Vegas, is primarily held to show off the latest in gadgets and electronics, and not really considered much of a "game show", unlike the Game Developers Conference and E3.  However, some game companies still take part, just to show off how far game development has come.  And this year, Nintendo will be making a trip to the event, bringing its upcoming Wii U system with it.

LAS VEGAS -- Research In Motion (RIM) and Sprint used CES 2011 to announce plans to launch a new BlackBerry PlayBook tablet model featuring connectivity to the blazingly fast Sprint 4G network. The BlackBerry 4G PlayBook will be the first BlackBerry PlayBook model to include wide area wireless connectivity, featuring Sprint 4G to give customers download speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G1. LAS VEGAS – Video games were everywhere at CES 2011, especially since the latest mobile phones and tablets open up greater opportunities for visuals and gameplay. EA Mobile’s ROCK BAND, which was created by developer Harmonix, made its mobile debut in Las Vegas at the Verizon Wireless press conference. ROCK BAND will be coming to select 4G smartphones from Verizon Wireless later this year.

LAS VEGAS -- Full-resolution high-definition 3D transmission via a premium TV service provider became a reality at this year's 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011). LAS VEGAS -- Ramping up its efforts to drive consumer adoption of 3D on mobile devices, 3D technology company Master Image is showcasing its glasses-free 3D displays for smart phones and tablets in Las Vegas this week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011). The company is showing off autostereoscopic technology similar to what Nintendo is using in its Nintendo 3DS portable gaming device.

LAS VEGAS (CES) – NVIDIA’s (NVDA) new Tegra 2 mobile processor, which it just announced at CES on Wednesday, has taken CES by storm as Tegra 2-powered tablets and smartphones have dominated the major product announcements coming from CES. NVIDIA’s major wins in the tablet space has fueled a 22% surge in its stock since the first of the year. Yesterday, the stock closed at $19.33 per share, up 13.8% for the day to close at a new 52-week high and the stock is up over 35% since December 15, 2010.

LAS VEGAS – Gear4, a United Kingdom-based iPod and iPhone audio case manufacturer, has released UnityRemote in the U.S. Now available through Amazon, the UnityRemote device turns any iPhone, iPod touch or iPad into a universal remote control. The device is one of many products that will be on display at the company’s CES 2011 suite off the convention center floor at the Mandarin Hotel in City Center.

LAS VEGAS (CES) – OnLive and Vizio today announced that OnLive will be available on Vizio’s brand-new VIA Plus HDTVs and Blu-ray players as well as Vizio’s VIA tablet  and VIA smartphone that it is introducing here a few days before CES. The cloud gaming service will support full 1080P 1920 x 1080 HD resolutions wirh stereoscopic 3D and SRS 5.1 surround sound support as well as work with OnLive’s low latency wireless game pads, which are based on the new IEEE 802.15.4 wireless standard. OnLive runs on Vizio’s Internet Apps platform which will be available across all four Vizio VIA product lines.
