Square Enix is going high fashion with high-end brand Prada. Fashion and videogaming have come together in the latest issue of European magazine Arena Homme+ with characters from the FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 showcasing Prada’s 2012 Spring/Summer men's collection as part of the 25th Anniversary celebration of the FINAL FANTASY series. A cast of characters from FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 including Lightning, Noel, Snow, Sazh and Hope are styled for action as they step out of their usual outfits and into Prada.

Paradox Interactive and Radioactive Software is exploring American history with Gettysburg: Armored Warfare. The hybrid multiplayer third-person shooter and real-time strategy (RTS) game is available beginning March 27th for $9.99 on Steam and other digital distribution services.

Epic Games has finished Microsoft's Gears of War 3, one of the big games of 2011. With the game studio working on other projects, the tech team has been busy updating the Unreal Development Kit (UDK), the free version of Unreal Engine 3, with new content for developers to access. Cologne – Media Molecule was at Gamescom 2011 to showcase the LittleBigPlanet 2 Move Pack DLC, which will introduce Playstation Move motion controls to the game creation franchise. One of the most highly-acclaimed first person shooters of 2011 is getting a facelift. EA and Crytek have released the Crysis 2 Ultra Upgrade, giving PC gamers full DirectX11 support. Enhancing the Crysis 2 gaming experience on PC, the Crysis 2 Ultra Upgrade delivers higher quality visuals and features including tessellation, water rendering improvements, high quality HDR motion blur, and many other special effects and higher quality texture formats with the optional high res texture pack.  On April 19, gamers were treated with the release of Portal 2, the sequel to a smaller game that could be found in the Orange Box. Portal gained a lot of critical acclaim for its innovative system of using portals to traverse testing areas and also to using them to solve puzzles. Portal 2 brought all of that back, and then improved upon it greatly. By this time, you probably have finished both the single -player and co-op campaigns; however, that doesn't mean that the fun is over. Valve has released the beta software of the authoring tools used to create the puzzles, allowing gamers to come up with their own challenges and share them with the world.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, North Carolina – Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 technology is fueling a major new government and commercial partnership that will send gamers to the moon, Mars and Beyond. Virtual Heroes has partnered with serious game developers Motion in Place and Project Whitecard to develop a new massively-multiplayer online (MMO) game with the help and resources of NASA. This new subscription-based game, Astronaut: Moon, Mars and Beyond, which will launch in phases beginning with a playable demo on July 6 through Valve’s Steam network called Moon Base Alpha.

Electronic Arts’ Montreal Studio had so much success with the original, critically-acclaimed Army of Two game, which was powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 technology, that they went right back to the battlefield with a sequel, Army of Two: The 40th Day. Reid Schneider, executive producer on the Army of Two franchise (a Hollywood movie adaptation is also in the works), has been working with Epic’s game technology for years.
