Content about maps

Once again, Naughty Dog has done a little more digging in the vault to bring forth some oldies but goodies in terms of multiplayer maps for Uncharted 3. Tomorrow will see the release of 4 of your favorite maps from Uncharted 2 to add a little bit of variety to all of your multiplayer needs. Naughty Dog released a trailer for the upcoming maps, as well as hint at a brand new game mode coming soon.

Gears of War 3 players have been promptly rewarded with outstanding DLC thus far, including free-for-all content and the fun add-on RAAM's Shadow.  Now they can look forward to some fresh new content in 2012, as Microsoft and Epic Games have announced the new Fenix Rising pack, slated for release on January 17.  And you're getting a lot here.

Despite some problems with the Call of Duty Elite service, Activision is fully dedicated to its billion dollar baby, Modern Warfare 3.  In a recent announcement on the exclusive Elite program Roll Call, Robert Bowling, a long-time member of the Infinity Ward team, announced a release date that would not only kick off the run of downloadable content for the game, but also new features on Elite.

When Bungie bid farewell last year with the release of Halo: Reach, that should’ve been the end of the franchise, yes?  Ha, yeah right.  This is a big moneymaker for Microsoft and they weren’t about to let the series go quietly into that good night.  So, along with announcing the forthcoming Halo 4 (and thus opening the door for a new trilogy), the company also confirmed its high-definition remake of the original that started it all, Halo: Combat Evolved.  So, now that it’s here, is it a fond tribute to everything Master Chief, or an insult?

Gears of War 3 has been a tremendous hit for both Microsoft and Epic Games since its launch last month, racking up three million units sold, with plenty more to follow over the holiday season.  The epic trilogy conclusion was also a big hit with critics, who called it one of the most beautiful Xbox 360 gaming experiences out there.  And now, just in time for the holiday push, it's getting its first batch of downloadable content.  And we're more than ready for it.

Dead Island came out earlier this week for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and several thousands of players thronged to the tropical resort to do damage to all kinds of undead.  The game is a big hit, and it's about to expand even further with the announcement of an upcoming DLC pack called Bloodbath Arena, due for release later this month.

Valve could've easily relied on Portal 2 to carry it through 2011, as it's considered one of the best games of the year -- and should soon be supported by some solid DLC.  However, the company went the extra mile this week, as it flew in several top players to its headquarters to test out a secret new game.  No, not Half-Life 3, but something just as legendary -- the return of Counter-Strike.
